La Mama - The Duchess of Ramen - XL

The Duchess of Ramen by La Mama – XL on canvas The port is regal. The lace is sumptuous. The pearls, the coiffure and the fabrics look straight out of a court portrait. But this evening, no banquet awaits the duchess: only a noodle box and a pair of chopsticks. In The Duchess of Ramen, La Mama humorously confronts the ceremonial of European aristocracy with one of the simplest pleasures of Asian popular culture. The long noodles traverse the imposing white strawberry and, with delicious insolence, break the solemnity of the portrait. The work thus celebrates a universal pleasure: the ability to drop conventions for a few moments. Princess, duchess or mere mortal, faced with a good bowl of noodles, centuries and statuses disappear. ⸻ About the work • Title: The Duchess of Ramen • Artist: La Mama • Edition: 1/6 – Limited series of 6 copies • Format: XL – 46 × 66 cm • Additional white border of 3 cm included • Support: High-definition Fine Art print on premium canvas • Technique: Digital creation combining AI, digital painting, drawing and manual retouching under Adobe Photoshop with a graphics tablet • Condition: New • Authenticity: Certificate of authenticity provided exclusively by email • Framing: Work sold without stretcher or frame ⸻ A digital craftsmanship Every detail contributes to the contrast between nobility and everyday life: the nearly sculptural finesse of the strawberry, the pearls of the headdress, the volumes of the sleeves, the depth of the dark velvet and the delicacy of the constructed face build an aesthetic directly inspired by old aristocratic portraits. La Mama dedicates several hours to each creation, working directly on the graphic tablet as a painter before his canvas. The textures, volumes, lights and details are revised and refined manually to obtain a coherent composition and a true pictorial identity. In the face of this sophistication, the chopsticks, the box and the noodles become intentionally incongruous. This confrontation creates the visual force of the work: an image immediately legible, elegant, funny and decidedly contemporary. ⸻ Delivery and presentation The work is printed on a premium canvas offering accurate color reproduction, textures, and details. It is carefully rolled then shipped in a reinforced protective tube to ensure receipt in perfect condition. The additional 3 cm white border facilitates future mounting on a frame while preserving the entire composition. The certificate of authenticity is provided exclusively by email. ⸻ About the artist La Mama revisits the great codes of classical painting by placing them in dialogue with our era. Through scenes blending elegance, humor and contemporary symbols, the artist creates works where artistic heritage and popular culture converse naturally. Each creation is conceived as a meeting between two centuries, inviting the viewer to rediscover daily life under an unexpected gaze.
