Lalique France - René Lalique - Centrepiece - Model Festons - Crystal

This object is a Lalique crystal component of a chemin de table in the iconic "Festons" model. This specific design was created in 1939 by the famous French glass artist René Lalique (1860–1945). The model is characterized by the distinctive, undulating scalloped edge ("festons") with finely incised ridges and decorative details. Features of this object: • Designer: René Lalique • Model: Festons (designed in 1939) • Material: Clear cast French crystal • Function: This straight, rectangular piece originally forms part of a multi-piece modular tables centerpiece (chemin de table / jardinière). Several of these straight and possibly curved pieces could be arranged together in a desired configuration on the table to present flowers, hors d'oeuvres, or decorative elements. • Signature: Original pieces are usually marked on the bottom or back with an acid-etched signature such as "Lalique France". It can perfectly serve to adorn the festive table with a small floral arrangement. Two very, very small pinpricks on the inner rim. Carefully packed and insured, shipped with tracking.
