Large Ammonite - Primordial Ocean Douvilleiceras - Height...

Douvilleiceras – Monument of the Ancient Sea — This great ammonite of the species Douvilleiceras, from Madagascar, is a fossil, a fragment of primordial ocean solidified in time. Its powerful spiral tells the journey of a cephalopod that plowed the seas of the Cretaceous, more than a hundred million years ago, when the world was populated by titanic creatures and the oceans sheltered life forms of extraordinary variety. The shell, with its nodose reliefs and compact geometry, embodies the strength of nature that molded it: not a delicate spiral, but a vigorous architecture, worthy of the tumultuous seas that hosted it. The sutures, incised like geological arabesques, together with the warm, earthy colors of fossilization, yield an object that is at once natural sculpture and paleontological document. Mounted on a decorative base in wood and metal, this Douvilleiceras is not only a scientific relic: it becomes the protagonist of a space, capable of transforming into a focal point of a collection, museum, or refined interior decor. Possessing it means safeguarding a natural monument, a direct witness of distant eras, when the ocean was the undisputed realm of ammonites. It is an invitation to contemplation and wonder, a fragment of geological time that today presents itself as an eternal work of art, born from the perfect alliance of sea, minerals, and time. Dimensions Ammonite: 410 x 380 x 155 mm
