Alle Auktionen / Zeitgenössische Kunst / Le Yack - Le Gibson d'Eve Kendall - Hand signed
A compartment in a dining car, mahogany woodwork, vaulted ceiling painted blue, green velvet banquettes. Face to face, in profile, a woman in a white satin dress and a man in a white tuxedo raise their glasses at the exact same instant. Between them, a white tablecloth, a silver shaker, a small cream-colored lampshade. The window behind them is a rectangle of black night. The painting is built like a mirror: the same gesture, the same glass, the same silence. Le Yack returns to the grand motif of the night train — two strangers, a cocktail, a conversation that has not yet begun — and freezes it in symmetry. It’s not clear whether they know each other. That is precisely the subject. Rich material: solid wood paneling, brushed velvet, the satin of the dress laid down in long smooth strokes. The globe of the ceiling light and the table lamp are the two sole warm sources and hold all the light of the scene. (The interior visual is an AI visualization, provided for guidance.) About the artist: LeYack (born in 1972) is a contemporary artist whose work blends modern narration with pictorial heritage. Drawing inspiration from photography and cinema, he distorts the codes of realism to inject a palpable emotional tension. Each work tells a frozen moment, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in the suggested story.
