Subject and Theme: "DIVINE SOUP V.2 & THE SOUP OF SUCCESS" is an ironic and luminous diptych dedicated to the most famous can in art history: Campbell's Soup, transformed by Andy Warhol into a Pop Art icon and here staged in two opposite versions, one sacred and one profane. In "DIVINE SOUP V.2" the Creation of Adam by Michelangelo stretches its hands toward each other across a blue sky marked by cracks, like an ancient fresco. But between God’s fingers the spark of life does not pass: a can of Tomato Soup passes. A white neon traces the profile of the arms like a bolt of lightning joining the two hands, while a red neon lights the can, turning it into a divine gift. In "THE SOUP OF SUCCESS" the can grows, turns pink, and becomes a "Money Soup": polka dots, dollar signs, a banknote, a gold coin, luxury monograms, a crown, and Uncle Scrooge with his necklace of banknotes. A magenta neon outlines it, making the soup shine like a sign of success. Technique and Creation: Both works combine screen print on rigid support with hand-applied LED neon: the white line of the arms and the red silhouette of the can in the first, the magenta contour of the can in the second. The first plays on the contrast between the Renaissance’s painterly delicacy and the brand’s essential graphics. The second is a dense Pop collage of details, symbols and saturated colors that reveal themselves gradually. Hanging together, the two works tell a complete story: from creation to consumption, from sacred to money. The white, red and magenta lights mix on the wall to create a warm and contemporary atmosphere. Inspiration and Curiosities: In 1962 Andy Warhol first exhibited in Los Angeles 32 canvases, one for each Campbell's soup flavor then on the market. He used to say he had eaten it for lunch for twenty years: a daily product he transformed into art. The same Warhol claimed that making money was, in turn, a form of art, and that a good deal was the best art. "THE SOUP OF SUCCESS" takes that provocation literally, while "DIVINE SOUP V.2" pushes the can even higher, up to the Sistine Chapel. A diptych designed for those who love Pop Art and the irony with which everyday objects are transformed into myths. Instagram: @led.mansion The lot includes 2 works.
