Leopold Fertbauer (1802-1875)

Leopold Fertbauer (Vienna, 1802–1875) - Signed/Attributed by period label Title: Portrait of a Young Lady (Portrait of a young lady) : XIXth Century (c. 1830 - 1845) Style: Central European Biedermeier Auctionet Technique: Oil on original canvas (Unlined) Outstanding oil on canvas by the Austrian master Leopold Fertbauer (Vienna, 1802–1875), a prominent figure of the Central European Biedermeier portraiture Auctionet. The artwork depicts a young lady from the Viennese bourgeoisie, displaying extraordinary technical skill in the rendering of the translucent lace veil and the satin sheen of the pink gown. The painting is in excellent original condition, remaining unlined on its original 19th-century canvas and mounted on its period wooden stretcher Auctionet. The reverse retains an important historical inventory label with registration number 34349 and a period handwritten attribution "Leop. Fertbauer s.g.", providing excellent provenance. Housed in its original gilded frame.
