Lima vulgaris (85mm) - Giant File Clam - Complete Matched...

The Sculpting of the Ocean – A snow-white natural wonder Expand your collection with a spectacular masterpiece of marine evolution: For sale is a completely flawless, natural two-piece shell of Lima vulgaris (Large File Shell) in museum GEM quality. With an impressive length of 85 mm, this specimen breaks the typical size limits of its species and represents a rare GIANT SIZE. The absolute highlight of this offering is the symmetry: The two halves naturally belong together (Complete Matched Pair) and close perfectly. A fragile masterpiece from the coral reefs The genus Lima is famous for its fine, sculpted shell architecture. The surface is covered with countless ultrathin radial ridges and tiny calcareous scales, which give the shell its characteristic rough file-like texture. Since these delicate ridges are almost always worn down or bumped in the rough reef environment or during collecting, an inseparable pair in this perfectly undamaged condition borders on a small miracle. The shell shines in an elegant, pure natural white and is a noble eye-catcher in a “Cabinet of Curiosities” style or for any high-end display cabinet. Details at a glance: Scientific name: Lima vulgaris (Link, 1807) Type: Complete, matching pair (2 halves) / Complete Matched Pair Size: 85 mm (Extraordinary monster size for this species) Quality: Exceptional GEM (Flawless, sharp relief, perfect closure) Origin: Indo-West Pacific Without / Diverse: Latiaxis mawae
