Lucio Fontana - Italian Lines – Express Services to All Continents - 1970s

Beautiful and very rare advertising poster for Italian Lines, dedicated to international sea connections and the promise of express services to all continents. Note: This is a later edition probably from the 1970s. The composition, signed Lucio Fontana, is of great visual strength: a white ship crosses a dark globe, evoking ocean routes and journeys to distant destinations. At the bottom are the names of the companies Italia, Cosulich, Lloyd Triestino and Adria. The print lists Barabino & Graeve, Genoa, and the year 1935. A poster of great charm, rare and sought after by collectors of advertising graphics, the history of navigation, and works related to Lucio Fontana. The vertical format, the black background, and the essential image make it also a striking decorative piece. It shows folds, undulations, and signs of time, visible in photography. !!!
