The special fascination of historical diamonds is their individual character. No two stones are the same: The color, proportion and brilliance of each stone is different. Created at a time when diamonds were not yet shaped in chunks, it was the cutter's task to determine the optimum proportions for each diamond. This ring brings us closer to 47 such diamonds with their own shape and history. These are stones that are characterized by their individual cuts, most of which are variations of the so-called old mine cut. The diamonds were combined around 1890 to create this dinner ring of elongated oval shape. The probably German goldsmith's work is worked flat so that the ring made of 18-karat gold with a slightly reddish hue is comfortable to wear. The diamonds are set à jour in the precious metal, i.e. the settings are open on the back. The ring, which came to us from Hamburg, is beautifully preserved and impresses with its magnificent setting.
