Stunning thematic set "Mineral Green" composed of two highly decorative living-room pieces from the modernist period (1960-1970) 1) A large Brutalist-style ashtray with rough outer edges, designed by Italian sculptor Romano Bianchi (Volterra). Made from solid emerald-green-tinted alabaster, perfectly mimicking the swirls of malachite. It bears its original golden label intact: "RB - Genuine Alabaster - Hand Carved - Made in Italy". Width: approx. 15 cm. Weight: 1110 g. Base smoothly polished. 2) A magnificent free-form bowl / trinket dish sculpted from a block of genuine natural malachite. The top face is superbly polished, revealing the mineral’s characteristic concentric eyes and rings, very graphic. The underside and the upper sides have been left in their raw, rugged sedimentary state, providing a striking contrast. Width: approx. 13 cm.
