MANET (Édouard) - CACHIN (Françoise). Manet: Letters to Isab - Lot 200

MANET (Édouard) - CACHIN (Françoise). Manet: Letters to Isabelle, Méry, and Other Ladies. Geneva, Skira, 1985. Quarto, publisher’s cardboard binding with illustrated dust jacket. 125 pp., numerous black-and-white and color reproductions. Chalon-sur-Saône Library An interesting publication compiling and annotating the correspondence sent by Édouard Manet to several women in his circle. The letters are particularly remarkable for the drawings and watercolors with which Manet adorned them; several of the reproduced originals are now housed in the Department of Graphic Arts at the Louvre. Musée d’Orsay Text by Françoise Cachin, then curator at the Musée d’Orsay. Published by Arts et Métiers Graphiques, Centre Georges Pompidou, Flammarion, Herscher, and Skira. A fine copy, with minor flaws on the dust jacket.
