Alle Auktionen / Sonstige / Manufacture de Tessier (Villenauxe) - Louis-Simon Boizot - Sculpture

Superb and delicate sculpture in white porcelain biscuit from the Tessier manufactory representing "Love in a Monastic Habit", created after the famous original model by the King’s sculptor, Louis-Simon Boizot (1743-1809). The work features a winged cherub/Cupid wearing a monastic habit with the hood down, a cord tied at the waist, holding his quiver at the side and reaching out with the other hand. The modeling is of great finesse, very faithful to the Neoclassical style and charming of 18th-century France.
