Markus Krug - WSK-F-267

Work Description: In 2019 the original sculpture “WSK-059” from 2011 was cut into its 120 individual pieces and, according to a pre-set grid, transformed into the offered wall object. Planning, clarity, execution: in various techniques, sculptures, objects and installations are created; they resemble each other and could be connected like a kind of matrix. Markus Krug creates homogeneous, reduced works from a wide range of materials: paper, cardboard, Styropor, or polystyrene foam. Due to the manual working process, minimal differences arise, which are highlighted or masked by applying acrylic paint, primarily in black or white. The viscosity, quantity, and handling of the paint are repeatedly changed from object to object, while the connection to the origin always remains.
