We present the Marlen Collection Ancient Italian Cities: Neapolis Marlen dedicates this collection to Naples, a city of almost one million inhabitants, a center of one of the most populous and densely populated metropolitan areas in Europe; it is also the most populous municipality in Southern Italy, the third in Italy by population (after Rome and Milan), the first among large municipalities by population density, and ranks among the twenty most populous cities in the European Union. Founded by the Cumans in the 8th century BC, it was among the most important cities of Magna Graecia and played a notable commercial, cultural, and religious role with respect to the surrounding Italic populations. After the fall of the Roman Empire, in the 8th century the city formed an autonomous duchy independent from the Byzantine Empire; later, from the 13th century and for more than five centuries, it was the capital of the Kingdom of Naples; with the Restoration it became the capital of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies under the Bourbons until the unification of Italy. The Neapolis collection features a clip specially designed to reproduce the splendor of ancient marble columns. The cap and the stem of these writing instruments are handmade, in blue Italian resin, machined from solid rod. The large ring on the stem reproduces a panoramic view of the Gulf of Naples.
