The previous owner, S.J. from Hemrik, stated that the object had been in his collection since the 1990s. According to the previous owner, the object had previously formed part of a private collection in the Netherlands since the 1990s. No further information concerning the earlier ownership history of the object was available from the previous owner. Background Information: This bronze seal matrix is attributed to the late medieval or early post-medieval period, approximately the 15th–16th century. It features a circular sealing face engraved with a geometric device, interpreted as a possible merchant's mark.
