MEDSAN - Akira, Kaneda and His Red Bike (金田と赤いバイク) - UNIQUE WORK

ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD EXISTS - EDITION 1/1 In this square format, Medsan installs Shōtarō Kaneda, the hero of Akira, on his famous red motorbike, in a dark room with red and black walls. Leaning forward, hands on the handlebars, he turns his head over his shoulder and fixes us with a hard gaze. He wears his red jacket marked on the shoulder with a blue and cream pill, with matching pants and boots. On the fairing, you can read Canon and SHOEI stickers, next to a star-spangled roundel. Around him, the scene splits: other Kanedas and other motorcycles emerge to the left and right, stretched into long red trails, as if speed left images in its wake. The shiny floor reflects these glints toward the bottom of the frame, and a clear shape swirls in the back of the room. Blood red, black and burgundy dominate the palette, barely lit by white and the blue of the pill. One could hear the engine rumbling in the silence. An intense piece, ideal for adding a touch of Japanese cyberpunk to the interior of a manga collector from the 1980s.
