Alle Auktionen / Zeitgenössische Kunst / MEDSAN - Laputa Robot Soldier (天空の城ラピュタのロボット兵) - UNIQUE WORK
IN THE WORLD THERE IS ONLY ONE - EDITION 1/1 In this square format, Medsan places the robot soldier from Castle in the Sky in the sky, the Studio Ghibli film, at the edge of a moss-covered cliff. Rust-brown and moss-green, he tilts his round head and offers a small white flower to a red squirrel standing on its hind legs, muzzle lifted toward him. On his shoulder, a bird sits in a nest of twigs. Behind them, Laputa Island floats, its domes drowned among the trees, long blue roots hanging from its base. Below, the snow-capped Mount Fuji rises from the clouds, and a large blue wave curls into foam. A vermilion disk occupies the top left, pink cherry blossom petals drift across the cream sky. To the left, a stele watches over the ruins beneath the cartouche ロボット兵 and a red-winged seal; to the right, the cartouche 天空の城, bottom left 令和八年 春, bottom right the cartouche メドサン. A scene of tenderness, out of time. A poetic piece, ideal for bringing a touch of the Ghibli universe to the home of a collector sensitive to Japanese culture.
