Alle Auktionen / Sonstige / Meissen - Plate (5) - Porcelain
Exceptional Meissen porcelain set with hand-painted insects, flowers and rich gilding – 5 pieces A particularly attractive feature of this set is the presence of finely hand-painted insects incorporated into the floral decoration. One of the five plates is especially distinguished by these detailed naturalistic insect motifs, adding an unusual and highly decorative element to the composition. The set consists of five original Meissen porcelain plates, each individually decorated with colourful, hand-painted floral arrangements. The compositions vary from plate to plate, creating a diverse and visually harmonious ensemble rather than a series of identical pieces. The plates combine several highly decorative characteristics: - hand-painted insect motifs, including a particularly detailed example within the set; - richly coloured hand-painted floral bouquets with pink, purple, blue, yellow and orange accents; - an elaborate openwork pierced border, creating a delicate lace-like appearance; - extensive hand-applied gilding along the rim and throughout the intricate openwork decoration; - the characteristic underglaze-blue Meissen crossed swords; - individual decorative details and painter's marks associated with the manufacture and decoration of the porcelain; - two plates retain their original historic “Bauch Porzellan BERLIN” dealer labels. The combination of naturalistic insect decoration, individually painted flowers, elaborate openwork porcelain and extensive gilding gives this group a particularly rich and collectible appearance. The presence of the original Bauch Porzellan Berlin labels is an additional point of interest, providing a documented connection with the historic Berlin specialist porcelain retailer. The five plates are approximately 21 cm in diameter and form a coherent decorative group while retaining individual variations in their floral compositions. Condition: very good collector's condition. No chips or cracks observed; the gilding is well preserved. A beautiful group for a Meissen collector, particularly appealing to those interested in hand-painted naturalistic decoration and finely executed openwork porcelain.
