Alle Auktionen / Musik & Musikinstrumente / Michael Jackson - Bad (Europe) – Rare “MOONWALKER” Hype...
A highly attractive European first pressing of Michael Jackson's Bad on Epic (EPC 450290 1), presented in the original gatefold sleeve and notably distinguished by the surviving "From the Movie Moonwalker" hype sticker on the front cover. This particular copy captures a pivotal moment in Michael Jackson's career. The Moonwalker film became deeply intertwined with the Bad era, with several tracks from the album—"Smooth Criminal," "Speed Demon," "Leave Me Alone" and the title track itself—becoming central to the film's narrative and visual identity. The presence of this original-era hype sticker therefore adds considerable character and period authenticity to the package, offering collectors a tangible connection to how the album was marketed and perceived upon its 1987 release. Bad itself stands as a landmark work, produced by Quincy Jones in collaboration with Michael Jackson. Following the phenomenal commercial and critical success of Thriller, Bad delivered an extraordinary succession of major singles: "Bad," "The Way You Make Me Feel," "Man in the Mirror," "Dirty Diana," "Smooth Criminal" and "Another Part of Me"—each becoming defining moments of the late 1980s. This example is further enhanced by the inclusion of its original printed inner sleeve, making it a particularly complete and collectible copy for any Michael Jackson enthusiast. ⸻ Sleeve (VG+): The original gatefold sleeve remains solid and well-preserved, presenting very nicely overall. There is some light age-related yellowing visible, though nothing major or particularly distracting. Most significantly, the front cover retains the distinctive "From the Movie Moonwalker" hype sticker, which gives this copy considerably more character and appeal than a standard sleeve example → VG+ Inner Sleeve: Original printed inner sleeve included. Vinyl (VG+): The record retains a very nice original gloss and presents cleanly throughout. There are some superficial marks and light signs of previous play visible under light, but nothing heavy or intrusive. Overall a clean and attractive VG+ example → VG+ ⸻ Details * UK 1st pressing * Epic EPC 450290 1 * Original gatefold sleeve * "From the Movie Moonwalker" hype sticker present on front cover * Original printed inner sleeve included
