Michael Jackson - Thriller (Europe) – Original 1982 Epic...

An attractive original 1982 European pressing of Michael Jackson's Thriller, issued on Epic under the classic catalogue number EPC 85930. Produced by Quincy Jones and released in 1982, the album became a defining record of the decade, combining pop, soul, funk and rock with an extraordinary run of songs including Billie Jean, Beat It, Thriller, Human Nature and Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'. This is an original European issue from the album's first release period on Epic Records, housed in the classic gatefold sleeve and complete with the original printed inner sleeve. Original EPC 85930 copies were issued with the distinctive gatefold sleeve and specially printed lyric inner containing the album credits, lyrics and Michael Jackson artwork. Surviving examples complete with this inner sleeve are particularly appealing compared with loose later copies. ⸻ Sleeve (VG+): The original gatefold sleeve remains very solid and attractive. There is some light age-related handling and wear, but no major structural damage. The artwork remains clean and vibrant and the sleeve continues to display very nicely, grading a strong VG+. Inner Sleeve: The period lyric and artwork inner remains present, completing the original presentation of the album. Vinyl (VG+): The vinyl retains a very good original gloss. There is some visible playwear together with a number of fine superficial lines and hairlines from previous use, but nothing deep or seriously distracting. Overall the record remains a solid and presentable VG+ example. ⸻ Details * Original European pressing * Epic Records, EPC 85930 * 1982 release * Gatefold sleeve * Original printed inner sleeve included * Stereo, 33⅓ RPM
