Mid-Century Vintage Karastan American Worsted Wool Kirman Pattern Area Rug

Karastan machine-woven wool area rug, Pattern 732, from the classic Original Karastan Collection, featuring an intricate Persian Kirman-inspired design. The richly detailed all-over pattern incorporates scrolling palmettes, floral sprays, paisley motifs, and foliate vines in a sophisticated palette of cream, brick red, navy blue, and terracotta. Crafted with a fine worsted wool pile on a cotton foundation, employing Karastan's distinctive woven-through-the-back construction to emulate the appearance of traditional hand-knotted Persian rugs. Reinforcing canvas strips are present along the side edges. Pattern 732 was produced as part of Karastan's heritage collection, generally dating from the mid-20th century through the late 20th century.
