Midcentury side table by Birger Ekman

Striking side table by Birger Ekman, made from wood, partially stained, with inlays of different kinds of wood and graphic lines of pewter on the base. Made as a cigar box with movable compartments inside, also makes a perfect jewelry box. The inlays of the front shows a man and a woman smoking a pipe and a cigar, on the lid a woman lights the cigar of a sailor by the ocean. Lovely attention to detail.
