This milestone release forms part of the prestigious Midleton Very Rare Vintage Collection and was crafted by Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman. For the 2025 release, six distinct distillate styles were brought together, combining Single Pot Still and Single Grain Irish whiskeys from mature stocks spanning four decades. The selected casks were drawn from the historic A2 Warehouse, adding an important connection to Midleton’s long whiskey-making heritage. The result is an elegant and layered Irish whiskey that combines the characteristic richness of Midleton with delicate fruit, spice, oak and sweet confectionery notes. Tasting Notes Nose: Sweet aromas of caramelised apple, toffee fudge and vanilla are complemented by fresh garden mint and lavender. Cinnamon and nutmeg add gentle spice, with pot still spice and sweet grain notes providing additional depth. Palate: Rich and textured, with honeycomb, soft fruits and delicate herbal notes. White pepper and a subtle touch of chilli oil develop alongside citrus and orchard fruits, followed by treacle, toffee, vanilla and sugar-glazed fruit. Finish: Long and rich, with the fruit gradually giving way to oak and lingering pot still spices. The Midleton Very Rare 2025 is a particularly significant release in the history of the Vintage Collection, commemorating two centuries of whiskey production at Midleton.
