Montblanc - Carrera 550 - No reserve price - Mechanical pencil

The Montblanc Carrera 550 is a distinctive mechanical pencil from the 1970s, characterized by the bold, sporty design of Montblanc’s Carrera series. It features a lightweight resin body with contrasting black details, a prominent clip and the Montblanc emblem at the top. The pencil uses a push-button advance mechanism and is designed for 0.9 mm leads, giving it a noticeably more substantial writing line than later fine-lead mechanical pencils. The barrel ring is marked “MONTBLANC CARRERA GERMANY 550.” With its strong 1970s styling, characteristic colour contrasts and straightforward mechanical construction, the Carrera 550 is one of the most recognizable vintage Montblanc pencils of the period. The pencil is in good pre-owned condition and has been carefully cleaned. Imperfections: light scratches and signs of use. There are visible two hairline cracks on the edge of the black barrel. They have been repaired and do not affect the pencil’s structure or use.
