Alle Auktionen / Sonstige / Mortar and pestle (2) - Crystal - Daum mortar and pestle
This mortar and pestle set with a “vide-poche,” produced by the prestigious French glassmaker Daum, is the quintessence of mid-20th-century luxury. Daum is worldwide known for its high-quality lead crystal and its innovative glass-working techniques, developed in Nancy, France, from the late 19th century. This piece boasts the robustness, translucence, and texture characteristic of Daum’s mid-century aesthetic, which transformed functional kitchen utensils into sculptural glass artworks. Collectors value these pieces for their provenance, their heft, and the “Daum France” mark, which certifies authenticity and the highest manufacturing standards. Its versatile design as a decorative object makes them highly sought after in the luxury home goods market, frequently appearing at auctions and in high-end antique shops.
