Signed, dated and numbered (edition of 3) in pencil on the back of the prints. Motoki Lee (born in 1965) Rō fujin Japan, 2006/2007 Important original black and white silver print by Motoki Lee, made in Japan in 2006/2007. Entitled Rō fujin, this photograph presents a scene of a Japanese street built around an elderly character in the foreground. The slanted framing, the very pronounced grain and the plays of reflections and superimpositions give the image a mood that is both documentary and dreamlike, characteristic of this Motoki Lee series. The composition powerfully blends the silhouettes of passersby, the movement of the street and the effects of light, giving the print a particularly expressive depth. Grand photographic print from a limited edition.
