Musical jewellery box - Italy - 1980-1990

Beautiful vintage music and jewelry box by Reuge, equipped with an original Swiss music mechanism. The music box is housed in a nicely decorated wooden cabinet with a rich rootwood effect and decorative inlaid motifs. At the top there are graceful floral ornaments with birds. The original mechanism is from Reuge, Switzerland, and plays “Waltz of the Flowers” by P. I. Tchaikovsky. The mechanism has been tested and works well. The mechanism clearly bears the Reuge name. At the bottom there is the original label including: * Romance * Swiss made by Reuge * Waltz of the Flowers * P. I. Tchaikovsky * No. 1885 The cabinet’s interior is finished with dark burgundy velvet and has a roomy compartment for jewelry or other personal items. The music box is supplied with the original key, including a decorative tassel. The cabinet is in good vintage condition, with some light signs of use appropriate to age and use.
