Natural Moldavite - Extraordinary rough specimen with an...

This impressive Moldavite shows an unusually vivid green coloration, ranging from deep forest and olive green to bright emerald tones depending on the angle of light. Especially under stronger illumination, the piece reveals its pronounced translucency and develops a fascinating inner depth. A distinctive feature is the highly textured surface. Numerous rounded, interlocking depressions and elevations give Moldavite an exceptionally plastically textured look. In addition, there are glassy-looking areas with typical flow and fracture structures. When viewed against the light, these different structures become particularly evident and create a lively interplay of light, almost transparent parts and intensely saturated green zones. Moldavite belongs to the tektite group and formed about 15 million years ago as a result of the colossal meteorite impact that shaped the Ries Crater in southern Germany. The enormous energy released upon impact melted earthly rock material and blasted it over great distances. While passing through the atmosphere, the melt cooled and solidified into the characteristic green natural glass known today as Moldavite. This piece comes from the Czech Republic, the classic site for Moldavite. In particular, specimens with strong green color, good light transmittance, and distinctly pronounced surface texture are especially sought after by collectors. Due to limited sources and finite natural occurrences, high-quality Moldavite also holds a special position within tektites and collectible minerals. Metaphysically, Moldavite also enjoys an extraordinary reputation. Tradition attributes to it the powers of deep transformation, expanded consciousness, and personal development. It is said to carry especially intense energy that can help dissolve entrenched patterns and open up new perspectives. A characterful natural Moldavite raw piece, notable especially for its unusually plastically textured surface, its intense green coloration, and its impressive effect when viewed against the light. In some of the pictures the stone has been backlit to show you the color of the stone. In some stones we have placed a light under the stone to better show the color of the pieces. And there may be color deviations, etc., because every computer, monitor, and phone can display color qualities differently!
