Central Asia, Nepal. A dhyangro, the double-headed frame drum played by jhakri (shamans) in Nepalese ceremonies, with hide drumheads laced over a wooden frame. The carved wooden handle takes the form of a kīla (Tibetan phurba), a ritual dagger reflecting Buddhist influence, with a deity head above the triangular blade.
