NÉRET (Gilles) — EROTICA. 20TH CENTURY. FROM DALI TO CRUMB. VOLUME II NÉRET (Gilles). Erotica. 20th Century. From Dalí to Crumb. Volume II. Cologne, Taschen, “Icons” series. In-8, publisher’s illustrated pink hardcover, numerous black-and-white and color reproductions. ISBN 3-8228-5564-2. The second volume of this anthology by Gilles Néret devoted to 20th-century erotic art. A comprehensive overview ranging from modern art to popular illustration and underground comics. The book brings together a deliberately broad range of imagery: painting, drawing, illustration, comics, caricature, folk art, fetishism, and erotic graphic works. The subtitle “From Dalí to Crumb” underscores the breadth of the collection, spanning from the artistic avant-garde to underground works. Numerous reproductions of works and documents, some of which are highly explicit, particularly from 20th-century erotic illustration and comics. Condition: generally good; hardcover shows some scuffing, small marks, and slight dents at the corners; interior in good condition.
