Nicolas-Toussaint Charlet (1792-1845)

Nicolas-Toussaint Charlet (1792-1845)

Oil painting on wood, circa 1830-1860 Napoleon Bonaparte Russia Campaign year 1812 The framed painting shows a depiction of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte by a campfire, which is based on the famous compositions of the French painter and lithographer Nicolas-Toussaint Charlet from the 19th century. Back of the painting: The newspaper clipping: The pasted, fragmentary text piece in old German Fraktur script on very old, wood-like paper concerns historically the burning of Moscow in the year 1812. It presumably served as an explanation for the front of the oil painting. Dimensions with frame: approx. 20 cm x 15 cm Dimensions without frame: 14 cm x 9.5 cm
