Up for auction a true piece of video game history: the original Super Mario Bros. for Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). This specific edition is the "Mattel Version", distributed in Italy in the late 1980s, recognizable by the Mattel logo on the front and back of the box. The game is not only the NES’s most iconic launch title, but the chapter that redefined the platform genre and the entire video game industry. The box shows some minor defects due to the age of the product, but it has never been used except for display because it is warehouse surplus from a store.
