925/1000 Silver necklace from the Finnish jewelry brand Lapponia. Lapponia jewelry cannot be dictated by fashion or function. They form their own world – rugged and serene at the same time – where Scandinavian craftsmanship, natural forces, and artistic freedom come together. Lapponia is the Latin name for Lapland, the large region that stretches across the northernmost parts of Finland, Sweden, Norway and Russia. In 1960, Finnish goldsmith Pekka Antilla founded the Lapponia Jewelry factory of the same name, where high-quality designer jewelry is produced. Over the years more designers joined him, who manage to capture the mystique of nature in the high north in whimsically shaped jewelry. At Lapponia, each piece of jewelry, like a work of art, receives its own name. These titles, inspired by poetry and mythology, form an important part of the jewel and make each piece unique and personal.
