A beautiful handcrafted terracotta volute krater reproduction of an Ancient Greek pottery, featuring a mythological scene illustrating the foundational Greek myth of the abduction of Persephone by Hades (known in Roman mythology as Proserpina and Pluto) the chariot procession, often associated with Hades and Persephone. The Main Chariot: The center of the composition shows Hades, the ruler of the Underworld, forcefully steering a quadriga (a four-horse chariot). He holds a resisting Persephone as they hasten down into the Underworld The Divine Guides: Surrounding the chariot are figures that guide or watch the event. Ahead of the horses, a torch-bearing figure (often representing Hecate) illuminates the dark descent. This particular artistic interpretation is deeply inspired by 4th-century BCE Apulian funerary pottery and classical Macedonian wall frescos, such as the famous painting discovered at the Tomb of Persephone in Vergina Typically used for mixing wine and water, this elaborate terracotta vessel features loop-like "volute" handles, complex geometric meander bands, and a decorative palmette collar band along the neck. The "590 B.C." date referring to the original antiquity being depicted rather than the age of the replica itself. #medi
