Altar fetish Voodoo "Aklama" Adan Ghana 24,3 cms Bibliography; "Aklama,Helping spirits of the Ewe and Dangme People from the Study collection of Horst Antes". These small figures, made of light wood coated with pigments, are ritual objects of the voodoo cult and are used by the Ewe people of the Adangbe/Ada language in Ghana, at the edge of Togo. These Ade statues represent the various hunting-related deities, which are also common to the Yoruba and Ewe.
