Omega Antique Silver Pocket Watch – 0.800 Silver – 24-Hour Dial – Case No. 8.933.084 – Round End of the 1930s Restoration object! An attractive and less common antique Omega pocket watch in a genuine 0.800 silver case and featuring a striking 24-hour dial. This vintage Omega mechanical pocket watch combines classic Swiss watchmaking with an unusual dial design, giving it considerably more character than a standard pocket watch from the early 20th century. The watch has a signed OMEGA dial with large stylized Arabic numerals, a small seconds hand at 6 o'clock, and an extra outer 13–24 hour scale. This 24-hour configuration is an appealing feature for collectors of antique Omega watches, vintage military watches, railway-style pocket watches, and unusual Swiss mechanical watches. The inside of the case is clearly marked with “0.800”, meaning 800/1000 silver, or 80% silver content. The case also bears the Omega triangular factory marking with “OMEGA” and “FAB. SUISSE”, supporting the originality of the silver Omega case. The case number 8.933.084 is stamped internally and repeatedly appears on the case parts. The serial number falls within a production range roughly associated with the late 1930s, around 1938–1939, although for a more precise dating the movement serial number would be needed. The case serial number should therefore be regarded as an approximate dating and not as conclusive proof of the exact production year. The 24-hour dial is one of the most interesting aspects of this watch. In addition to the standard 1–12 hour display, the outer ring runs from 13 to 24, allowing the time to be read in a 24-hour format. This type of military or railway-style dial is less common than the standard Omega pocket watch dial, giving the watch a special appeal for collectors. The dial has developed a substantial authentic age patina. There are scratches, blemishes, discoloration, spots, and general wear visible across the dial. The hands also show oxidation and age-related wear. The silver case shows scratches, tarnish, oxidation, small spots, and general signs of use befitting a pocket watch that is many decades old. There has been no attempt to hide or heavily restore these signs of age. The watch retains the worn and characterful appearance expected of an original vintage Omega silver pocket watch. The combination of a truly Omega-marked 0.800 silver case, Omega-signed dial, sub-seconds, and the unusual 24-hour scale makes this a more distinctive piece than a typical unsigned Swiss pocket watch. It should appeal to collectors of vintage Omega watches, antique silver pocket watches, Swiss mechanical watches, 24-hour pocket watches, and military-style watches. The photos are part of the description; it is indeed a restoration object!
