Very impressive antique Islamic Ottoman ring. Prominently raised oval bezel with a carnelian intaglio showing a scorpion. Intricate decorations all around the bezel border and on the shoulders of the ring, tapering ring band. -> Animal motifs are characteristic of rings from the Islamic world, where symbolic and ornamental designs were often preferred over readable text.
