Precious 20th-century porcelain duo in “oxblood.” In detail, we find: a cylindrical glass characterized by a complex shaded glaze; it is a handleless glass or utensil holder with a linear, geometric form that tapers upward (a tumbler). It features a glossy, speckled finish that fades from deep violet and purple tones to warm reddish accents and a delicate blue-violet upper border. The surface has a splendidly variegated appearance, typical of high-temperature firing. On the bottom there is a seal that served as a customs clearance visa for export. It certified that the object had been duly examined by government experts and that, not being considered an irreplaceable historic artifact or a protected national treasure, it could be legally sold and exported from China. Dimensions of the cylindrical vase: 12 cm high x 8 x 8 cm and it weighs 513 g. The glass is paired with a coordinated ceramic red, glossy, bright salt/pepper shaker or garlic keeper, creating a stark color contrast; the exterior body presents a rich, glossy monochrome in a deep, intense red tone, characteristic of copper oxide fired in a reducing atmosphere. The glaze shows subtle color variations and color accumulations due to natural dripping during furnace firing. The interior of the jar and lid reveals a light glaze, ivory or very pale celadon. This surface is entirely traversed by a dense decorative net of craquelure, typical of high-era Chinese porcelains. The upper rim and the base are free of red glaze (left white or brushed), highlighting the clear contrast between the light porcelain and the covering glaze. Inside the bottom there is uneradiated raw porcelain. The lid shows the same red finish on the outside and the characteristic light circular inner base with firing and workmanship marks. Dimensions of the salt shaker/garlic keeper: 10 cm H x 8 x 8 cm and weighs 294 g. Total weight: 807 g. In excellent condition without any chips, cracks, or restorations. Shipped insured with professional packing.
