Original vintage exhibition poster published in 1964 for the exhibition: “Braque – Picasso – Rouault et Maîtres contemporains du Musée du Gemmail de Tours” held at the Galerie Charpentier, Paris. An authentic period exhibition poster from 1964 (MCMLXIV), not a modern reproduction. The poster was published by Galerie Charpentier, Paris, and printed by Mourlot, Paris, the renowned French lithographic printing house closely associated with many of the leading artists of the 20th century. The poster is documented in the specialist catalogue of Picasso posters: Czwiklitzer, Catalogue Raisonné of Picasso Posters, reference 238 A. There is a pronounced crease/fold in one of the lower corners and a visible defect in the image area, both clearly documented in the photographs. There are also some minor handling marks and age-related imperfections. Despite these condition issues, the principal composition remains visually attractive and the colours retain a strong presence.
