A pair of Chinese glazed pottery guardian lion figures (Foo Dogs), 19th century, each modelled in a seated pose with alert expression, open jaws and curling tail, decorated in vibrant turquoise, aubergine, cream and cobalt-blue glazes, with floral ornaments. Raised on rectangular bases, the figures display the bold modelling and richly coloured lead glazes characteristic of Chinese export ceramics of the period.
