Alle Auktionen / Asiatische Kunst / Pair of Wucai Floral Double-Gourd Vases - Porcelain - China - 20th century
Description A matched pair of vases in the auspicious double-gourd form — tall flared neck above a bulbous mid-section, rising to a larger lower bulb and neatly finished foot. Painted in rich, vibrant Wucai enamels — emerald green, iron-red, royal blue, golden yellow and aubergine — with intricate, layered decoration: the neck bears scrolling flower sprays; the central bulb features precious antique objects and ceremonial vessels; the main body displays an ornate flower basket overflowing with peonies, chrysanthemums and seasonal blooms, all bound with flowing ribbons. Harmonious in palette, proportion and decoration, they make a striking and auspicious pair. Dimensions: Height each: approx. 26 cm Condition Both vases: Frits/nicks to the rim; consistent enamel wear and surface scratches from age and use; One vase: Additional noticeable knock/impact damage at the rim; No hairlines, cracks or restoration observed elsewhere; structurally intact; Sold with all faults described and visible in photographs — display pieces only. Shipping Ships to the United States; no insurance included — buyer assumes all shipping-related risks.
