Panca del XIX secolo in quercia intagliata a mano - Hall bench - Wood

Panca del XIX secolo in quercia intagliata a mano - Hall bench - Wood

19th-C-century Hand-Carved Oak Bench — Shaped Backrest and Scroll Decoration An elegant nineteenth-century oak bench, distinguished by a tall, shaped backrest and rich carving that defines its sculptural presence. The backrest is crowned by a pair of scrolls and features a central cartouche framed by raised mouldings. The design continues through the armrests and shaped side panels, creating decorative continuity that can be appreciated from every angle. The wooden seat is complemented by a carved front apron echoing the motifs of the backrest. The side supports, enriched with turned elements and scrolls, give the piece visual solidity and architectural character. The deep brown tones of the oak and the patina developed over time highlight the grain and the relief of the hand-carved decoration. A distinctive piece suited to an entrance hall, corridor, study or reception room. Appealing to collectors, antique dealers and interior designers, it can complement a historic setting or serve as an accent piece in a contemporary interior. Details Type: bench with backrest and armrests Period: 19th century Material: hand-carved oak Colour: dark brown with warm undertones Decoration: scrolls, central cartouche, mouldings and turned elements Quantity: 1 Provenance: private collection Condition and Buyer Information In good overall condition, with patina, signs of use and wear consistent with its age. Irregularities, small losses and cracks in the wood are present, as shown in the photographs, particularly on the back and underside. These features reflect the history of the piece and contribute to its antique character. Over the years, it may have undergone maintenance or conservation work. Please examine all photographs carefully, including the close-up images and views of the back and underside, as they form an integral part of the description. The image showing the bench in a historic palazzo is an illustrative setting and does not document its provenance. The lot includes only the piece of furniture described. The buyer may choose between the following options: 1. Free collection in person, with all packing, handling, loading and transport arranged and paid for by the buyer. 2.
