The study of form merges with that of pose, always in balance. By shaping the raw material, clay, the artist gives life to a body and a pose crystallized in time. Yet the female body radiates freedom. Paolo Desario’s artistic and multifaceted talent shines powerfully through his works, releasing a vitality that is almost tangible. His inspiration begins with an inner search that has ancient and primal echoes, as suggested by the sinuous female torsos and the winged figures. He manages to unite reality and transcendence through ever-new insights, knowing how to achieve an original synthesis between the individual preference for essential forms and the most attentive contemporary plastic research. A sculptor and painter, Paolo Desario was born in Barletta, in Apulia, and studied at the Accademia delle Belle Arti di Bari in the sculpture school of Amerigo Tot. He lives and works in Barletta, has taught Plastic Disciplines at the Liceo Artistico Statale "Sacro Cuore" of Cerignola and at the Liceo Artistico of Corato. He boasts an artistic career spanning almost 50 years, dedicating himself to sculpture and painting, participating in numerous solo and group exhibitions at national and international levels.
