Pavel Sukdolák (1925-2022) - The Temptation of Saint...

additional information: The second work 'Mirror of Time' is 40 cm high x 30 cm wide. It is 43/100 (a limited edition, therefore). Origin and titles of both works I have inquired about with the curator in the Czech Republic: Dear Mrs. Thissen, we have managed to find out the following about your graphics by Pavel Sukdolák: The first, larger graphic is entitled The Temptation of Saint Anthony II. It is a color etching. It is reproduced in the catalog for the exhibition Pavel Sukdolák, Color Etchings and Pastels, which took place in Boskovice in 2006. The curator of the exhibition and the author of the catalog is Mr. Miroslav Novotný: https://cs.isabart.org/document/171017, https://kramerius5.nkp.cz/view/uuid:92b03000-4752-11e7-b03f-005056827e52?page=uuid:23900de0-8338-11e7-94b3-005056825209 The graphic is entitled Mirror of Time and is a combination of color etching and aquatint. We discovered print 42/100 in a link to the online auction of the Vltavín Auction House (the graphic is no longer on the auction house's website): https://livebid.cz/auction/vltavin_grafika_cerven2026/detail/451 None of the graphics are dated, which is relatively common for the works of Pavel Sukdolák. At the same time, they are among the abstract works of the author, whose style and elements have repeatedly appeared in his work for several decades. Nevertheless, we hope that we have helped you to obtain at least a little more specific information. [..]Sincerely, Mgr.
