Alle Auktionen / Etnografica / Petrified wood – Fascinating sphere- Duo with natural...
This extraordinary sphere duo made of petrified wood combines the fascinating beauty of fossil natural history with the timeless elegance of a perfectly polished spherical form. Both spheres display impressive natural color gradients from warm brown, red, and honey tones to cream, beige, and soft gray shades. Notably characteristic are the clearly visible, wood-like structures and fine lines that run across the surfaces. The different color zones recall the original grain of the wood and give the spheres impressive depth. Depending on the viewing angle, new details, layers and natural drawings repeatedly come into view. The larger, lighter sphere captivates with its contrasting combination of cream-colored, gray and reddish-brown areas, while the darker sphere with intense red-brown, mahogany and warm gold tones has a particularly strong presence. The highly polished surface accentuates the fossil structures beautifully and reflects light impressively. The back sides also show a completely different patterning, highlighting how varied the natural structure of this material is. Together, the two spheres form a harmonious set where the different color worlds complement each other excellently. An extraordinary collectible for lovers of petrified wood, fossil natural materials and special mineral objects. The combination of geological history, natural grain and elaborate polishing makes this sphere duo an impressive eye-catcher for any collection or stylish interior. Nature Stone Note: Petrified wood is a fascinating fossil natural material in which the original wood structure has been preserved over geological periods and replaced by mineral substances. Each sphere thus possesses its own grain, color distribution and drawing and is thus a unique piece of natural history. The stand is not included Extraordinary Quartz Hand Polished Petrified Wood Weight: 3553.13 g Size: - Treatment: None Origin: Madagascar It is fossil wood dating back about 200 million years. All parts of the log or branches have been silicified, meaning that organic components were gradually replaced by silicon in the form of jasper, chalcedony and, more rarely, opal. With the organic parts gone, all living matter was replaced by stone: there are growth rings, cell separations, almost like worm cracks. Its features are those of the mineral that would have mineralized the wood: silicon. And that’s what we commonly call petrified wood. The disclaimer about the healing properties, as previously given: It is believed that certain gemstones and minerals have beneficial health and spiritual properties.
