The work describes in minute detail the rigid protocol of the Cisalpine Republic for receiving with the highest civil and military honors the transalpine diplomat, an event that sealed the political recognition of the newborn Republic by the Napoleonic nation. The work, unwelcome to the House of Austria, was suppressed after Napoleon's fall and Poggi himself had to take refuge in France. Binding in modern hardcover. Title in gold-tooling on the spine.
