Polished Petrified Wood Bowl with Natural Crystal Growth – Deep Red & Golden Tones A striking decorative bowl carved from natural petrified wood, distinguished by a rich combination of deep red, burgundy, brown, golden ochre, cream and dark grey tones. The polished interior reveals beautifully preserved mineralized structures that follow the original grain and growth patterns of the wood. Intense reddish and burgundy areas are crossed by darker bands and warmer golden zones, creating a dramatic and highly varied surface with strong natural depth. The exterior has been left more natural in character, preserving the rugged texture of the fossilized wood and creating an attractive contrast with the highly polished interior. Particularly interesting is one side of the specimen, where natural crystal growth is clearly visible within cavities in the petrified wood. These crystalline areas add texture and sparkle and provide an additional mineralogical feature beyond the fossilized wood itself. Natural cavities, fractures and mineral-filled veins remain visible throughout the piece and form part of its geological history. The contrast between the glossy polished areas, the raw outer surface and the crystallized sections gives the bowl a particularly sculptural and authentic appearance. Petrified wood forms when buried plant material is gradually replaced by silica and other minerals while much of the original structure of the wood is preserved. The result is a fossil material in which organic forms and mineral processes remain closely intertwined. A distinctive fossil and mineral specimen, combining strong coloration, preserved wood structure, natural crystallization and a substantial decorative presence.
