Precious Engagement Ring with a 1.10 ct Diamond (E, VVS2) in Platinum

The classic solitaire ring—that is, a ring featuring a single diamond—was popularized by a design created by the jeweler Tiffany & Co. in 1886. To this day, this style of ring has remained the epitome of the engagement ring: it embodies all the symbolic power one can expect from a piece of jewellery that carries a promise. This solitaire ring was created on our behalf. At its center is a modern brilliant-cut diamond of first-class quality. The stone weighs 1.10 ct and has been graded as exceptional white (E) and VVS2. Its proportions, symmetry, and polish are all excellent. Only a small cluster of light inclusions beneath one of the facets at the edge of the stone attests to its natural origin. An independent appraisal of the diamond by the Gemmological Institute of America (GIA) is included with the ring. Diamonds are valued based on their weight, cut, clarity, and colour. Colour is described in subtle gradations ranging from the purest, colorless white to warm, mostly yellowish hues. The stone set here has the second-highest color grade possible: “E” on the GIA’s color scale from D to Z, or “Exceptional White” on the alternative scale of the International Diamond Council (IDC) in Antwerp, which has identical gradations. Together with its platinum setting, this creates an ideal ring that shines like light transformed into a piece of jewellery. We manufactured the ring entirely in Germany. The setting was cast for us in Pforzheim, finished in Berlin, and the diamond was set into the ring in Idar-Oberstein. We sustainably sourced the platinum for the ring from antique pieces of jewellery. This is the first time this diamond has been used in a piece of jewellery.
