Precious Pendant with Aquamarine & Pearls in Platinum on Gold, C. 1910 & Later

When the leaves finally fall and this light mist lies over the meadows in the morning, when the sun rises very slowly across the sky and the trees cast black and silent shadows, then it is winter. In the evening, the sky glows a soft pink and purple, and when the first snow has covered the landscape in a stiff, glittering dress, then the Snow Queen reigns over her chilly realm for a few weeks. But unlike in earlier times, we no longer need to fear winter. On the contrary, how happy the scent of the first snowy air makes us when we step outside the house wrapped up warmly! How nice it is to have parties and dinners with friends and family by the fire, and how happy it is to go for a walk in the icy forest! So when the world loses its colours again and the snow and sky turn white and blue, it's good to have the right pieces of jewellery to hand! And this precious pendant from c. 1910 is just the right piece. A large, winter sky-blue aquamarine is set in a delicate setting richly studded with diamonds and pearls. Delicate platinum ornaments surround the aquamarine like waves of ice. The pendant is astonishingly finely crafted, with fine milgrain ornaments at every point to reflect the light even more beautifully. The setting of the aquamarine is so fine and yet so stable that it is a pleasure to admire even the smallest detail. The pendant was probably originally created as a brooch, and the loop, also set with diamonds, was added somewhat later. It can be worn immediately with a modern platinum chain. The accompanying certificate from Vienna has confirmed the quality of the materials.
