Charoite pendant. 44 carats and 8.8 g. Dimensions: 33x19x8 mm. Flat-backed pendant. It is impossible to capture the depth of color of this charoite in a photo. High quality Charoite stone. Bail/connector in Solid 925 Sterling Silver. Origin: Eastern Russia, Sakha Republic, Siberia, near the Chara River. Located only in Russia, charoite is considered a rare stone. It derives its name from the Chara River, which flows through the Aldan Mountain Range. The stone deposits are extremely rare, the most recognized site being in Siberia, not far from Lake Baikal. It remains rare due to the limited extraction, all the more so since the only area where it is found is in Eastern Siberia, in the Sakha Republic. Access remains particularly difficult and greatly constrains its exploitation, hence its rarity. Any other origin is not charoite. In the jewelry sector, it is regarded as a fine stone, most often cut as a cabochon or carved to create various items.
